Jerial Roastery’s October Ethiopia is a premium Ethiopian specialty coffee, sourced from high-altitude farms known for producing some of the world’s most distinctive and flavorful beans. Grown in the heart of Ethiopia’s coffee regions, this coffee boasts a delicate balance of fruitiness, floral aromatics, and bright acidity. Expertly processed to preserve its natural complexity, October Ethiopia delivers a vibrant and refined cup, ideal for filter or espresso brewing.

Processing Method:

Washed (Fully Washed Process)

  1. Harvesting: Only ripe coffee cherries are hand-selected to ensure consistency and quality.
  2. Pulping: The outer skin is removed, leaving the beans covered in mucilage.
  3. Fermentation: The beans are left in fermentation tanks for a controlled period to break down the mucilage, enhancing clarity and brightness.
  4. Washing: The beans are thoroughly washed to remove all remaining residues.
  5. Drying: Sun-dried on raised African beds for even moisture reduction and optimal flavor retention.
  6. Milling & Sorting: Once dried, the beans are hulled to remove the parchment layer and sorted to ensure uniform quality.

The washed process enhances the coffee’s clean, crisp flavors, bright acidity, and floral aromatics.

Tasting Notes:

  • Jasmine – Elegant floral aromatics with a delicate, tea-like quality.
  • Citrus Zest – A refreshing, bright acidity reminiscent of lemon or orange peel.
  • Honey – A smooth, natural sweetness that rounds out the cup.

Acidity:

  • Bright and lively, enhancing the coffee’s fruit and floral characteristics.

Body:

  • Light to medium-bodied with a silky, tea-like texture.

Aftertaste:

  • Clean and lingering, with floral and citrus notes gently fading.

For the best experience, filter brewing methods (e.g., V60, Chemex, Kalita Wave) are recommended to highlight its clarity, while espresso brewing provides a nuanced, floral, and citrus-forward shot.
